CANCER SUPPORT NETWORK

The "Cancer Support Network" project will be delivered by Ada, the director of CHICK The Women’s Comfort CIC, and her husband Mariusz. The couple faced a challenging time when Mariusz was diagnosed with cancer, and Ada had to juggle caring for him and their two children. Despite the difficulties, they emerged stronger as a couple and as a family. This experience underscored the importance of mutual support, open communication, and honesty about feelings and emotions. It also highlighted the necessity of discussing cancer and seeking solutions that provide hope, strength, and a positive mindset to battle the disease.

Difference the Project Will Make:

The "Cancer Support Network" project aims to make a significant positive impact in several ways:

  • Emotional Support: Providing a safe space for patients and their families to share their experiences and feelings, reducing feelings of isolation and anxiety.

  • Education and Awareness: Offering resources and information that empower individuals to make informed decisions about their care and treatment options.

  • Community Building: Creating a strong, supportive community that fosters connections and mutual support among its members.

  • Improved Coping Strategies: Enhancing the ability of individuals and families to cope with the challenges of a cancer diagnosis through holistic approach and life experiences.

The primary problem we are addressing is the emotional and psychological burden of a cancer diagnosis, both for patients and their families. This includes:

  • Isolation: Many individuals feel isolated and alone in their journey, lacking a support system to share their struggles and triumphs.

  • Lack of Information: Patients and families often struggle to find reliable, comprehensive information about their condition and treatment options.

  • Emotional Strain: The stress and emotional turmoil associated with cancer can be overwhelming, affecting mental health and overall well-being.

All meetings will take place on Fridays starting from 29th November 2024 at Cacao Atelier, 154 Mortimer Street, CT6 5DU, Herne Bay
